Writer Creates "Historical Inspirations" Through Words and Art
Baltimore, Maryland -- Sep 6, 2008 --

Carolyn Mattocks has always been a history buff. She has always loved reading history, particularly, African American History. Ms. Mattocks believes that history is not just mere regurgitation, but is a guide to our present and future solutions. The writer has decided to use her knowledge of history to motivate, inspire, and educate the African American community through thought provoking essays combined with art. Each of the graphics has been carefully designed to illustrate the expressions of the words.

Historical Inspirations can be purchased in the form of booklets, laminated prints, posters, and framed posters. Historical Inspirations currently offers a collection of seven essays. The essays are “How African Americans Maintain Their Dreams and Hopes Despite The Obstacles,” “Want Happiness: Discover Your Life’s Purpose,” “Remembering The Legacy of the African American Woman,” “Black Man,” “Being Popular or Smart,” “Whose Responsibility Is It To Maintain The African American Legacy,” and “Is The Dream Deferred?”

Ms. Mattocks is a summa cum laude graduate of North Carolina Central University with a B.A. in History. She also has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from North Carolina State University.
